THE PLOT. Though billed as a Jonas Brothers movie, “Camp Rock” actually stars Demi Lovato, the newest entry from Disney’s tween star machine. Ms. Lovato, 15, plays Mitchie Torres, a young singer-songwriter who is only granted admittance to a prestigious rock camp after her mother becomes a chef there. Ashamed of her (comparative) poverty, Mitchie hides behind a fake persona before realizing–surprise!–that she should be true to herself. (And sing about it, of course.) (Wall Street Journal)
