In 1991, Plato ended up in Las Vegas with no work. She took a job at a dry-cleaning store to support herself. On February 28, she entered a video store, produced a gun, and demanded the money from the register. The clerk called 911 saying, “I’ve just been robbed by the girl who played Kimberly on Diff’rent Strokes”. Fifteen minutes after the robbery, Plato returned to the scene and was immediately arrested. The gun was only a pellet gun and the robbery netted Plato $164.[16] Las Vegas entertainer Wayne Newton posted her $13,000 bail

Dana Plato

Here’s hoping no one is having a very Dana Plato style day.

cockenblog:

Genuinely excited that my bud Streeter is FINALLY listed as a notable alumnae of our Alma Mater, Fordham University. And he’s listed before Amanda Seyfried. He is living my dream.
FYI, other fun Fordham Alumnae include:
Susan Lucci
Lana Del Rey (had a different face, was still moody)
Denzel Washington
Vince Lombardi
Donald Trump (Attended, but never graduated. He once offered to donate a building, but Fordham declined because who wants a Trump building on campus?)
Alan Alda
Fox News idiot Greg Kelly
Dylan McDermott

Now we know where the floor for ‘notable’ is!

Remember when some 16 year old twat deleted Streeter’s wikipedia page 5 years ago because he wasn’t “famous” enough? I BET HE IS REGRETTING THAT DECISION NOW.

Give Wikipedia Your Money

I so rarely like something enough (except Charles Barkley, Rickey Henderson, pop punk, and Pretty Little Liars) that I will fan girl over it on my blog, but Wikipedia fucking rules. It’s the best. In high school I did 0% school work and I can’t tell you how jealous I am that wikipedia didn’t exist 13 years ago when I was high school. I WOULD’VE DONE -100% homework in high school. YOU NEVER HAVE TO READ A FULL ANYTHING EVER AGAIN. JELL-O of you my high school blogging babies. **Miss you days of make out club and live journal.**

Before I worked at tumblr I would spend my downtime at work on tumblr. Now that I work at tumblr I spend my work brain breaks on wikipedia, the second best website on the internet. I can’t remember the last time I watched a tv show or movie without reading the wikipedia page of every actor, director, set designer, ect as my second screen experience. You can literally learn anything for zero dollars. ANYTHING! GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY SO I DON’T HAVE TO GIVE THEM MORE OF MINE.

Think of it like This American Life asking you for money but 1000x less annoying

The April Fools’ Day wikipedia lists well known pranks from the media along with real news that people perceived as pranks.

KEWL PRANK: Dead fairy hoax: In 2007, an illusion designer for magicians posted on his website some images illustrating the corpse of an unknown eight-inch creation, which was claimed to be the mummified remains of a fairy. He later sold the fairy on eBay for £280

KEWL NON PRANK: Gmail’s April 2004 launch was widely believed to be a prank, as Google traditionally perpetrates April Fools’ Day hoaxes each April 1
